Cuetzalan del Progreso October 1 - 8 Cuetzalan has celebrated their Coffee Fair since 1949. A queen is crowned and there is dancing and activities rich in tradion in the city's main park. The national fair of the Huipil rescues indigenous roots by  maifesting customs and traditions. By conserving  the purity of  this celebration it gives the town and its people a grand sense of  pride and purity. The local Tiangus (or street market) is one of the most colorfull in Mexico.  Here it is possible to buy everything - from tradicional local  delicacies to all kinds of arts and crafts. Since the XVI century Cuetzalan has celebrated all of the most important celebrations creating one of the most authentic fairs for natives and mestizos alike. Santuarios Lic. Copyright Caves: Of great natural beauty, the municipality also boasts other natural attractions such as its large network of caves which have been explored by important groups of spelaeologists. Rivers: Multiple rivers ending in waterfalls and many caves (some with internal rivers) lend to Cuetzalans amazing landscape.. Crafts: Cuetzalan offers on a great variety of artisan producers and products, too many to be mentioned here. Textiles: Textiles made mainly in garment .- loom as: blouses, shawls, belts, blouses, bags and other items such as silk shawls, tablecloths, napkins, tornilleros and a wide variety of garments with designs woven by hand. Basketwork: With regional natural fibers (jonote and beaches) they make; guacales, baskets, carry flowerpots and other objects ornamental Sanctuary of Guadalupe: In 1896 its builders took most of its elements of the Cathedral of Lourdes of France to build the Sanctuary of Guadalupe. To the tower they added many  terra-cotta (or clay) pitchers to give it its own characteristic thats has given it its name of "The church of little pitchers." Parish of San Francisco: Situated in the city center is the monumental Parish of San Francisco. This Renaissance style church with Doric and Roman characteristics  featurs the highest steeple in the state of Puebla. Chapel of the Conception: This hybrid-style chapel was built in the begining of the 20th century.  It features murals adorning the inside creating a special spot that is truly  "Cuetzalan". Yohualichan: Yohualichan is believed to have been founded at the beginning of the Classic period 0 to 900 A.D. These ruins recall much to the pre-Hispanic city of El Tajín  in Veracruz. The niches of the basements and grecas that decorate the slope of the largest pyramid of Yohualichan also exist in the holy city of El Tajín.
